In January 2022 Tender Victory was awarded a contract by Devon County Council to deliver support to Devon based small businesses, through workshops and 1:1 sessions, to help them understand and engage with local authority procurement as part of the Council’s investment in Community Wealth Building.
The ‘Get Set to Tender’ training scheme was launched in April with a programme of workshop dates covering Introduction to Procurement and Tenders; Preparing to Tender; and Writing Tender Responses.
To date the scheme has proven to be a great success and we are thrilled to have been part of it. Businesses and their staff from across Devon have benefited from the training and support and are in a much better position to be able to engage with the world of tendering, confident that they have a good ground knowledge and understanding of everything they need to know.
For those businesses who needs, and availability require a more tailored approach than a group workshop, we tailor our delivery by using 1:1 sessions accordingly, making them very specific and ultimately extremely useful for these businesses.
Of those surveyed all participants said they were either ‘very satisfied’ or ‘extremely satisfied’ with the content covered with the workshops. Overall, the workshops scored 4.7/5 for relevance and usefulness to the attendees’ business. Other key take aways noted by participants included:
I found it extremely useful to know to prepare a bid library and get all the paperwork together and ready to bid.
Knowing what portals to use to browse for tenders.
I attended all 3 events, and they were very informative, I have a better understanding of the different types of contracts, what the buyer looks for and how to best present our tender. I would definitely recommend.
The workshop was informative and helped clarify some pre-conceptions I had about tendering.
